SO I.R. Pty Ltd is Siân Owen's Industrial Relations Consultancy business. Its focus is to help people to resolve their workplace problems so their businesses and their lives can run more smoothly.

Siân has been working in the field of Industrial Relations for 25 years. She started as a union representative in a not for profit organisation in London and on her return to Australia worked for the Community and Public Service Union. Siân's role at the union was to represent union member's interests. This could involve representing employees who believed they had been treated unfairly or presenting a case to what is now Fair Work Australia arguing for a pay increase for union members across the country.

This invaluable experience means that Siân has a deep understanding of the way employees feel about the large and small decisions that are made in the workplace. She also saw how frustrated many managers were when they were prevented from introducing positive and meaningful change into the workplace by intransigent opposition to management action. She could see that both employees and employers needed sensible workplace relations advice to provide for more positive workplaces. This led Siân into industrial relations consulting, first with WorkSight and now with her own company SO I.R.

In working with SO I.R. you are working directly with Siân Owen. Siân is committed to analysing your workplace problem with you and providing you with a range of options to resolve the problem. Siân will not talk to you about off the shelf solutions or push a certain type of model onto you. With Siân you will get a personalised assessment of the problems facing your workplace and a personalised series of solutions. Every workplace problem is different and needs to be assessed with your needs in mind.

Siân established SO I.R. because she loves the business of work and grappling with workplace problems. Her objective is that both you and your employees should have a more fulfilling experience in your workplace. Siân's fundamental approach is that workplaces must be fair places.
